Nicolai Crane

Executive Producer

Nicolai Crane is a documentary filmmaker, producer, cinematographer, and editor with more than 20 years of experience telling stories about people, place, justice, and conservation.

 

He leads Crane Visionary from early story development through field production and the final edit, bringing a filmmaker’s eye, a producer’s discipline, and an editor’s sense of emotional connection to every project. His approach ensures each visual, interview, and creative decision serves a single goal: helping audiences understand, feel, and remember what matters.

Joshua Gobbell

Director of Photography

​Joshua Gobbell is a filmmaker, cinematographer, and visual storyteller with more than 20 years of experience in film and video production. His work has taken him across the globe, from Egypt and Indonesia to Hawaii, Colombia, and deep into the Amazon rainforest. With a background spanning documentary, commercial, branded, and independent productions, Joshua brings a cinematic and human-centered approach to every story he tells. His work has been featured on and produced for major networks and platforms including HBO, PBS, Discovery, FUEL TV, and others.

Jessica Plumb

Creative Producer & Writer

Jessica Plumb is an award-winning filmmaker and writer known for exploring the relationship between people, and the land and waters that sustain us.

 

She is the Producer and Co-Director of the feature documentary Return of the River, a film recognized with numerous awards including “Best Storytelling” by the International Wildlife Film Festival, and “Best Writing” in science media. Collectively her films have appeared in over 50 film festivals and garnered 20 awards.

Gabe van Lelyveld

Cinematographer

Gabe Van Lelyveld is an award-winning writer, producer, director, editor, and DP working primarily in documentary and commercial film for over 15 years.

 

His 2013 narrative feature film, Mandarose, which Gabe co-wrote, directed, produced and edited, won Best Narrative Feature at the Northwest Filmmaker’s Festival (NWFF), and screened at multiple film festivals regionally and abroad. He has worked professionally in the film industry for over 15 years, including founding his own production company, Whaleheart Productions, in 2012.

Chris Bricker

Creative Producer & Writer

Chris Bricker is a longtime actor, performer, broadcaster, and community advocate. A San José State Theater Arts graduate, he performed internationally with Ringling Bros. and other circus productions before working in film, television, and commercials as a SAG-AFTRA member.

 

Chris has also supported disability arts, workforce training, and labor organizing. In Port Townsend, he spent a decade hosting Morning on the Salish on KPTZ and now produces and hosts Community Tides, Our Working Waterfront, and radio documentaries while serving as the station’s Community Relations Lead.

Alex Albers

Editor

Alex is an experienced documentary editor whose work has premiered on PBS, Fox Sports, Netflix, Amazon Prime as well as film festivals across the country and around the world.

 

Alex has collaborated on a variety of documentary projects including Netflix’s MAKING OF A MURDERER, the Emmy-nominated Q BALL, and the Emmy-winning Netflix film FIRE IN PARADISE. They served as lead editor on the award-winning documentary WOMEN'S MARCH, as well as a co-editor on PERFECT SWEAT, a documentary series.
